Hope of Ages – 20 December 2013

The Christmas programme of WICC, “Hope of Ages”, was celebrated today at LMS Polio Home, Palayam. It all began with the WICC choir singing Christmas carols. The choir held the audience awestruck by their melodious singing. The Junior church came up with a skit with the angels announcing the birth of Jesus to the shepherds keeping watch over the sheep at night. They portrayed the Biblical characters, with each one coming and testifying as to how the advent of Christ into the history of the world had changed each of their life story, beginning with Mary, Joseph, Elizabeth, Shepherds etc. The youth of the church came up with different programmes like shadow mime, worshipping the Lord through dancing, through various dance forms like break dance, Kathakali, Bharathanatyam, Mohiniyattam. They also did a funny presentation for the kids. The highlight was the Christmas message by Senior Pastor, Dr. John Joseph. He spoke on what all features qualify Jesus to be called the one and only God. He spoke of the unusual entry of Christ Jesus into the world, through the womb of a virgin, living a sinless life, manifesting supernatural miracles and being different from others with an acute sense of difference in what He says, leaving an Everlasting influence satisfying the spiritual hunger of our hearts and finally with a supernatural power over death. Choir once again sang “Hope of the Ages” and wished Merry Christmas by singing the song “Feliz Nevidad”.
